Nieuws - Prijs voor kritisch boek over Winterspelen 2014

NEW YORK - In de Zuid-Russische stad Sochi worden inwoners onteigend en verwoest men de natuur. Alles moet wijken om de stad klaar te stomen voor de Olympische Winterspelen in 2014. Reden genoeg om ‘The Sochi Project’ op te starten, dachten de Nederlandse schrijver-journalist Arnold van Bruggen en fotograaf Rob Hornstra. De twee Nederlanders zullen vijf jaar met het journalistiek project bezig zijn. Met hun eerste publicatie, Sanatorium, wonnen ze eerder deze week alvast in de Verenigde Staten de New York Photo Book Award.

BRUSSELS —  Debby Huysmans shows a photographic research on forgotten and isolated communities in Siberia. The two longest rivers of Siberia, the Yenisey and Lena, guided the photographer through the desolated area in search of individuals who experience this area as their biotope and the marks they leave in the landscape that surrounds them. Remainders of dreams of the past and signs of hope for the future appear through the daily environment.
