Van donderdag 13 tot en met zondag 16 oktober 2011 huisde Kiev de wereldconferentie onderzoeksjournalistiek. Het programma stond bol van actuele thema’s als klokkenluiders en Wikileaks, maar omvatte ook praktische journalistieke technieken en trainingen. Van deze zevende editie van de GIJC deed VVOJ-directeur Margo Smit verslag.

This is the fourth conference at which the Global Shining Light Award is being granted. The first was presented at the Toronto Global Conference is 2007.
