Sander Buyck (°1984) is a Belgian photographer.

Graduated in photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, Sander Buyck (Ghent, 1984) investigates the medium of photography by visually dissecting different traditions, ranging from romantic photography to documentary, on the one hand, and by approaching photography through other media, such as film, posters, installation,... In addition to this ontological perspective, which strongly focuses on the limits and impact of the medium, his work also constitutes a visual investigation of the emergence, transformation and disappearance of visual cultures. With a strong focus on non-Western visual cultures, Buyck wants to analyse the relationship between the image and its context.
