Collins Mtika was born in Malawi and grew up mostly in Zimbabwe. He is the founder of the Centre for Investigative Journalism in Malawi (CIJM) and has worked for Malawi's biggest newspaper publisher, Blantyre Newspapers Limited. It publishes The Daily Times, Sunday Times, Malawi News, as well as The Weekend Times, where he is Bureau Chief for the Northern region. He also heads the Investigations desk for Malawi’s www.nyasatimes.com.
