News - WJEC-3 in Brussels in 2013
BRUSSELS - The World Journalism Education Council has selected Belgium, Brussels, as the site of the 2013 World Journalism Education Congress. The European Journalism Training Association-Flemish/Dutch Network of Journalism Institutes submitted the proposal.
The council made its approval contingent on the following conditions:
- The maximum registration price will be 350 Euros for the three-day congress.
- The organizers are to provide 30 scholarships for attendees from developing countries.
- There will be tiered registration levels based on the economic level of the delegates' home countries (similar to the rubric employed by IAMCR)
The dates for the congress are to be set later this summer after consultation with the EJTA/VNOJ organizing committee.
The council convened July 15, 2011, at the IAMCR 2011 Conference in Istanbul, Turkey, to select a host for the 2013 World Journalism Education Congress.
This third congress will follow two highly successful meetings in Singapore (2007) and Grahamstown, South Africa (2010).
