The End of Truth. March
Santagio Roncagliolo, a political journalist from Peru, will present his views on 'the end of Truth'. This is one of the presentations from the cycle of conference "Spotlights on the Millennials, an exercice in prospective thinking" organized by the King Baudouin Foundation.
Santiago Roncagliolo was born in Peru, but grew up in Mexico due to political exile. He has lived in Spain since 2000. He is a writer and a journalist.
“XXth centhury was marked by the struggle among two different truths: liberal democracy against communism. With the fall of Soviet Empire, liberal democracy became the winner of this struggle. From 1990 on, in economy and international politics, there was no doubt that the entire planet could reach unity in one system of thought under the leadership of Occident.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, ex communists could become democrats. But after the fall of Liberal Democracy what can we become? New political strategies and attitudes are required to defend freedom and human rights.”
