Nieuws - How to investigate the extreme right
KIEV - The Swedish journalist Lisa Bjurwald, who this spring has published "Europas Skam" (Europe's Shame) about the extreme right in Europe, and the German journalist Andrea Roepke, who is coauthor of “Mädelsache – Frauen in der Neonazi-Szene" and has as been investigating neonazis for years, will tell about their experiences from research of right wing movements during the Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Kiev.
They will speak about how to use Internet research to keep track of the movement and map connections, how to deal with threats and how to decode the far-right vocabulary.
The Norwegian journalist Per Anders Johansen, who at Aftenposten in Oslo was in charge of the reporting on the bomb and the massacre at Utøya and also worked with the leaked cables from WikiLeaks, will moderate the session.
