AMSTERDAM - Tinne Claes en Wederik De Backer zijn bekroond tot Meestervertellers 2019 voor hun podcast De S53. Collectief SCHIK draagt dezelfde titel voor hun podcast El Tarangu. Meestervertellers is een initiatief van de Stichting Verhalende Journalistiek. De prijs wordt uitgereikt op 5 maart in De Brakke Grond in Amsterdam.

In de podcast S53 volgen audiomaker Wederik De Backer en onderzoeker Tinne Claes de route van doorreizende migranten door het Vlaamse landschap: van drukke treinstations, naar piepkleine dorpen, door de velden tot aan een populaire snelwegparking. Te voet, en met de trein. Trein S53 om specifiek te zijn, de laatste avondtrein vanuit Gent.

 In 2003 krijgt de Vlaamse wielerheld Lucien van Impe een vreemd telefoontje. Zijn oude rivaal José Manuel Fuente is in België en wil met hem afspreken. Op zich geen ongewoon verzoek, maar er is één probleem: wielrenner Fuente is officieel al zeven jaar dood. Toch gaat Lucien op de uitnodiging in…In El Tarangu probeert Audiocollectief SCHIK het mysterie te ontrafelen.
