Isabelle Vanhoutte is a Belgian investigative journalist and author.

She writes about the environment, health and the circular economy, with a particular focus on plastic, waste and recycling. In her work, she combines scientific insights with current issues in an accessible, distinctive reporting style.

She previously published Handboek voor de circulaire economie – een ABC (Handbook for the circular economy – an ABC) (2020) and produces podcasts and audiovisual series, such as De Plastic Podcast (The Plastic Podcast) (Apache), De Circulaire Podcast (The Circular Podcast) (MO*) and Stappen naar bio (Steps towards organic) (Bioforum-Boerenbond).
