Jorrit Smit is a Dutch researcher in the sociology of science and sustainability, with a background in chemistry, philosophy and social sciences.
In recent years, he has worked at various Belgian and Dutch universities, and has been affiliated with the University of Bergen since October 2026.
From 2024, he will also be working as a freelance journalist. He recently completed the postgraduate programme in International Investigative Journalism at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences.
