Koen Demarsin is a writer, researcher, project designer and bridge builder.
He is fascinated by the place people occupy in space and time. This fascination first drove him to archaeology and religious studies. From 2011 to 2023, he headed ZENDER, the intermunicipal cooperation on culture and heritage in the Pajottenland and Zenne Valley to the west of Brussels. There, his interest in border areas and peripherality grew. Since 2020, he has been writing about this regularly in Randkrant. Since 2023, he has been working independently.
