Laurens Groeneveld is an investigative journalist who lives and works in the Netherlands.
He has extensive experience in the field of international politics. At The Investigative Desk, he specialises in reporting on Russia, China and defence. In recent years, he has published investigations into European ammunition production, Chinese port investments and the links between Dutch politicians and Russia.
Previously, he worked at BNR Nieuwsradio, where his roles included reporter on European politics, producer and editor-in-chief of foreign affairs programmes such as BNR De Wereld, Boekestijn, De Wijk and the China Podcast. As a freelancer, he produced the documentary “Breaking the Narrative”, about how Finland deals with military threats and disinformation from Russia. He studied journalism in Utrecht and Helsinki.
