Sophie Boutboul is a member of the freelance journalists collective Youpress. Their latest collective investigative project is the international investigation Femmes à abattre, on "political feminicides", the gender-based political assassinations of women human rights defenders, elected officials and journalists around the world.

She is also the co-author with Alizé Bernard of Silence, on cogne. Investigation on domestic violence suffered by wives of gendarmes and police officers (Grasset, 2019). She works on gender-based violences for Mediapart and La Déferlante.
