The social relevance of quality investigative journalism is greater than ever, but the conditions under which it operates remain precarious. At the upcoming VVOJ Conference, we will delve into ‘The Uncomfortable Reality: an honest and urgent look at the state of our profession’.
We see how strong collaborations and cross-border projects continue to make an impact and expose abuses. At the same time, we remain dependent on US Big Tech platforms whilst relations with that country are growing increasingly strained. We are also facing mounting pressure from legal proceedings, encountering obstructive governments, and finding that politicians are paying less heed to our revelations than before.
What does this mean for your work? How do you remain critical and independent in a changing media landscape? Which tools and techniques work to increase the impact of our investigative journalism in this sometimes uncomfortable reality?
Expect inspiring speakers, lively discussions and practical insights. Meet colleagues, share knowledge and work together to ensure the future viability of our profession at the VVOJ Conference 2026.
