SARAJEVO – In late 1995, the Dayton Accords brought an end to more than four years of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The violence ceased and people celebrated. But this peace treaty also laid the foundations for an ethnically and politically divided country.

Journalist Marjolein Koster takes you on a journey through her encounters with the new generation of Bosnians, who are navigating their way through discriminatory legislation, nationalist rhetoric and multi-layered forms of corruption. Their lives offer a glimpse into a society that is constantly reminded of war and genocide. They are fighting for a dignified existence and occasionally manage to cause cracks in the system.
