You can't change what you don't know. The first step in fighting injustice is revealing it. Help Journalismfund.eu support journalistic research. Help journalists do what they do best. Because good journalism is vital.

Do you condemn government fraud? A European Parliament resolution adopted on 10 May 2012 describes investigative and independent journalism as an essential element in fighting crime, fraud and corruption with European funds. Why? Because large-scale fraud is complex and often invisible, until someone takes the time to research and expose it.

Do you oppose the violation of human rights? According to the Amnesty International Report of 2013 at least 112 countries in the world tortured their citizens in 2012, and people in at least 101 countries were restricted in their free speech. Injustice can only be stopped if we know that it’s happening.

Are you against environmental crime? Europol’s 2013 Environmental Crime Threat Assessment states that environmental crime is an emerging threat in the EU. One of the biggest problems in fighting such crimes is that they remain underreported and underinvestigated.

You can't change what you don't know. The first step in abolishing human rights violations, organised crime and large-scale fraud is revealing them.

And that’s exactly what journalists do: they search, dig and examine. They discover, reveal, expose. They tell their stories to readers, aid organisations and policy makers, who can then start doing what they each do best to fight those abuses.

Journalismfund.eu supports journalists in doing this job by giving them the money they need to do their research, by providing networking opportunities, by sharing knowledge and spreading tips.

Help us support journalistic research.
Help journalists do what they do best.
Because good journalism is vital.
