BRUSSELS - This is the first article in a series on homelessness focusing on the Belgian capital city, where homelessness has more than doubled in ten years.
The first piece is a portrait of the family of Albert Maillet, a 47-year-old homeless man who died a year ago in Brussels. Albert's sisters had no contact with their brother for decades, but after his death they tried to find out more about who he was and got to know his friends who still survive on the streets.
