Simon Dequeker (Belgium) swapped Ghent and a career in planning ecology research for a life as an investigative journalist in Amsterdam.

He has previously written for Mondiaal Nieuws and De Groene Amsterdammer on climate and agriculture, as well as for Investico on restrictions to the right to demonstrate. He is a bioengineer by training.
