BRUSSEL — MO* journalist Kristof Clerix heeft voor België de European Young Journalist Award 2010 gewonnen. De prijs is een initiatief van de Europese Commissie en bekroont journalisten tussen 17 en 35 jaar die op een kritische manier berichten over de EU-uitbreiding.

De European Young Journalist Award wordt door nationale jury’s aan winnaars in 36 landen (EU-lidstaten en kandidaat-lidstaten) uitgereikt. Clerix won voor België met het artikel ‘De Balkan isoleren is geen optie’, een reportage over de uitdagingen waar Albanië voor staat.

De prijs is een reis naar Istanbul in mei 2010. (Bron: MO*)

Minister Gennez tackles Nazi-looted art and Tate Britain returns painting after investigation by Geert Sels

BRUSSELS - Fifteen parliamentary questions, five years of waiting for a Rops painting, two and a half years of no response from museums. The Nazi looting claims piled up in recent years, but nothing happened. Now it is finally in the Flemish coalition agreement. Furthermore, a painting is returning from the Tate Britain and Minister Caroline Gennez is setting up a commission to settle claims and organise provenance investigations.
