INDIA - Being transgender seems to be a fairly recent concept in Belgium and the Netherlands, but in India there has been a deep-rooted culture around the third sex for centuries.

In this documentary, transgender model Valentijn de Hingh goes to India to make contact with this special community. However, she quickly learns that the so-called "hijras" or "kinnar" face violence and abuse, and that they often end up in dangerous prostitution due to a lack of social perspectives.
