A'DAM - World Press Photo is announcing its first contest for multimedia productions in visual journalism.The contest is divided into two sections, for linear and for interactive multimedia.
The winners will be announced during the Awards Days at the beginning of May 2011. The press release reads: "While photography continues to play a significant role in global media, the organization recognizes the increasing importance of photography products in the market, and is aware of a broadening in demand beyond the still image in printed media." In order to identify the best multimedia globally, Word Press Photo is putting its trust in the expertise of specialists in the field, to nominate multimedia productions of the highest quality. The nominating committee members will nominate productions for the two categories of multimedia production: online or offline linear productions, or online interactive productions, with a journalistic storyline.
