MADISON - A new Center for Investigative Journalism is being launched to examine government integrity and other issues in Wisconsin.

The nonprofit center's executive director is Andy Hall, who has been a reporter for the past 18 years at the Wisconsin State Journal. The Madison-based center will partner with Wisconsin Public Radio and Television and the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The Center for Public Integrity in Washington, D.C., also will be a collaborator. Hall says the center will provide free content about government ethics, neighborhood safety, water quality and other issues. He says the center will be funded with contributions and the goal is to employ five journalists, including one based in Washington.(Source: Chicago Tribune, Associated Press).
